Heather Hilliard Design is a full service, boutique interior design firm in San Francisco, California. Heather creates personalized interiors that combine classic detailing with the restraint of modern design. With every assignment she accepts, Heather delivers a refined result that reflects the very best of her client’s personal style.
Heather has been featured in many national and design publications including The Wall Street Journal, House Beautiful, San Francisco Cottages & Gardens, Luxe Interiors + Design, California Homes, Traditional Home, and Gentry Home, among others.
Since the founding of her firm ten years ago, Heather has prevailed nine times in juried competitions to design rooms at the annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase. She has also been on the Designer’s Circle for both the San Francisco Antiques Show and SFMOMA’s Fog Design + Art Fair for many years. Heather is an Allied Member of ASID and an Associate Member of AIA. She is also a member of the Modern Art Council and Contemporaries, as well as a Patron Member, of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. At San Francisco’s De Young and Legion of Honor museums, Heather is a Sponsor Member. She is also Patron Member of The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
Heather’s training in art history and contemporary art distinguishes her design work. Before pursuing her graduate degree in design, Heather worked at University of Pennsylvania’s Institute of Contemporary Art and at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Heather eventually advanced into a Senior Designer role at the venerable Wiseman Group interior design firm. Heather earned her MFA in Interior Architecture and Design from the Academy of Art University. She earned her BA in Art History from LaSalle University. As a graduate student, Heather studied the History of Modern Architecture and Design in London. She also studied Aesthetics and the Renaissance in Paris. Heather’s design training also includes post-baccalaureate studies in art, architecture and design at Moore College of Art & Design, Drexel University, the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University.
